A Taste of Jamaica!

Coyaba Gardens

Each visit to Coyaba is a new encounter with beauty, curiosity and nature. The seasons are marked by newly flowering plants and trees.

The time of day by the reflection of sunlight on the water take a guided tour through the garden, amidst meandering streams and ponds, climb Mahoe Falls and dip in the pool at the base of the Falls, a photographers dream, wander on your own, or dream away the hours to the roar of falling water.

Dunn’s River Falls

Dunn’s River Falls is one of Jamaica’s national treasures. Globally, it is as well known as reggae and equally stimulating.

There are few places where the Arawak name “Xayamaca” – land of rivers and springs – is more apt. The Spaniards called the area “Las Chorreras”, the waterfalls or springs and it is truly one of the most beautiful spots on the island.

Mahogany Beach

Mahogany Beach is a smaller and more intimate alternative to Turtle Beach.

Situated at the east end of Ocho Rios, to access Mahogany beach (from town) walk east and take a left turn after passing Bibibip’s Bar and Grill.

There is no entry charge.

There is a bar and restaurant on the beach and a roped-off swimming area in the sea which boats must not enter.

Bob Marley

The Bob Marley Tour will take you to Nine Mile, a quaint little village in the beautiful mountains of St Ann, Jamaica where each year thousands upon thousands of Bob Marley fans make their pilgrimage to pay their respects and to experience the birth place and final resting place of the King Of Reggae.

Your tour starts with a walk through the very same house that Bob lived as a young child. Your Rastafarian guide will share tales of Bob Marley’s childhood and musical career.

Shaw Park Garden

Shaw Park Gardens is a beautiful botanical garden, located in the hills above Ocho Rios.

The 25 acre garden features around 600 species of flower along with many ferns and shrubs such as bougainvillea, palms, hibiscus and ferns.

The entrance to Shaw Park is some 900 feet above sea level, giving a great view of Ocho Rios from the top of the gardens.

The park is then tiered over many levels, meaning that many different plants which thrive at different altitudes can be grown here.

The garden boasts a majestic waterfall which cascades down a rocky bank, surrounded by many varieties of beautiful flowers.

Margaritaville-Mobay

The Margaritaville bar and restaurant is the busiest spot in Ocho Rios. The bar is mostly aimed at tourists but also attracts a Jamaican crowd.

Margaritaville is a Caribbean themed bar although this has been somewhat re-imagined through American eyes (for example, there is a gift shop inside the bar and you can ask for your drinks to be served in souvenir glasses).

The order of the day at Margaritaville is “fun in the sun” with a whirlpool hot tub on the roof, a 100 meter water slide, a swim-up bar and access to Island Village Beach.

Rose Hall Great House

The legend that surrounds Rose Hall and its infamous owner, Annee Palmer, is one that has fascinated generations of locals and visitors alike since its construction in 1770. Annee was called the “White Witch” because she bedazzled then did away with the three husbands and countless slave lovers. Quick with the whip, she was notorious for torturing slaves for her own entertainment. Follow in the footsteps of the SyFy Channel’s “Ghost Hunters International” and “scariest Places on Earth” and see if you can capture an image of the White Witch.

Doctors Cave Beach

Doctors Cave Beach Hotel in Montego Bay is serenely secluded and yet strategically located in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Just a short hop from the airport, mere steps from world-famous Doctors Cave Beach and moments from tennis, golf, horseback riding and Jamaica’s colorful markets and duty-free shopping.

Fern Gully

Road running south of Ocho Rios to Colgate Fern Gully is a winding scenic stretch of road which starts in Ocho Rios and runs for three miles, ending up in the community of Colgate. The area gets its name from the wide variety of ferns which grow in the area, towering high above the road forming a shady tunnel of lush greenery.

The varieties of plant life may be lost on many visitors but keen botanists will enjoy seeing approximately 300 varieties of fern in addition to other species such as Blue Mahoe and Banana trees. The roadway through Fern Gully was established in 1907 when an earthquake destroyed one of the eight rivers in the Ocho Rios area. The river bed was subsequently paved and the roadway was established. Vendors line the road, selling wooden carvings and sculptures. The area is famous for life sized sculptures of “anatomically exaggerated” males. Some stalls will allow you to have your picture taken with one of the sculptures for a small fee.
